Easter

The kids did two Easter hunts this year, first the "apple" hunt at Lyman's Orchards, and then the one down the road at the florist in Haddam. The Lyman's one was a bust, it was very over crowded, parents were out of control and many kids didn't get any apples. Even though she was signed up, Meriel didn't want to do it because of the big crowd. Summer did it and thought it was fun, but had a hard time getting any apples. She ended up with 8, which we thought was plenty. (But according to her 10 less than last year). We did not stay for the pony rides or to see Easter Bunny because the lines were too long.

Summer is in the bright pink coat right in the middle of the picture. All of the apples were picked up within about 10 seconds.

After the hunt. She still had fun!

Meriel watched from the sidelines and was more excited about her free t-shirt.

The Haddam egg hunt was a last minute decision, Jon had heard the Easter Bunny would be hopping by so we thought they might like it. It was much more low key and kids each found a couple of eggs with tootsie rolls inside. Meriel found one with a penny so she got to choose a prize, she picked an Easter pencil. Afterward E.B. stopped by and Summer loved him. Meriel didn't want to get up close and personal with him and thought it was "weird" that he was wearing sneakers under his feet. Oops.

The girls and I spent Good Friday coloring eggs. Even Avery joined in.

Easter morning. E.B brought each of the girls a basket and hid some candy around the living room.
Leaving eggs and carrots out for Easter Bunny.
He came!

He brought slinkys which were a big hit.

Very excited on Easter morning

SO excited!
Hanging out with her basket
